Required interaction
Identify state created before checkout
Record required_customer_input, pre-checkout state, product configuration, consent, and validation that cannot be safely inferred.
Checkout compatibility audit
A shorter agent checkout is not compatible when the skipped product or storefront step creates required transaction state. Record what must happen, what can be delegated, and where a human is required.
THE OPERATING MODEL
Product options, personalization, booking availability, capacity, notice rules, subscriptions, delivery constraints, consent, loyalty, and upsells can all shape a valid transaction before checkout. A direct path must preserve those constraints or redirect.
Authentication adds another boundary. Customer-account OTP, step-up verification, or non-delegable approval may require a human even when the remaining cart and checkout operations are technically automatable.
WHAT THE RECORD MUST SHOW
Required interaction
Record required_customer_input, pre-checkout state, product configuration, consent, and validation that cannot be safely inferred.
Inventory and slots
Treat inventory reservation, booking capacity, slot selection, and min/max notice rules as transaction constraints rather than optional UI.
Human authentication
Record human_auth_required, step_up_auth, delegable_auth, and HUMAN_REQUIRED instead of attempting to bypass a protected step.
EVIDENCE FLOW
CLEAR PRODUCT BOUNDARY
The audit is an evidence-based compatibility finding, not a promise that every product can use agent checkout. In the current pilot it does not modify Shopify themes, checkout, customer accounts, inventory, or live orders.
COMMON QUESTIONS
It means an interaction creates required state or satisfies a control that the assessed direct flow cannot currently preserve.
Not by assumption. The audit records whether authentication is human-required, step-up, and delegable for the specific flow.
No. It compares store dependencies with versioned capability evidence and reports a read-only finding.
